Judith Gwyn Brown
Judith Gwyn Brown is a renowned painter of men and women moving through the light, space and the shadows of intimate and mysterious settings.
Her paintings and drawings are in permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Morgan Library in New York, The Boston Public Library, The Huntington Library in California, and university collections across the country. The New York Public Library has presented her work in a one-person show. Her work also is represented in the private collections of Author Mary Higgins Clark and Actress Julie Andrews, among others.
She has illustrated more than 40 books -- publishing with Harper, Doubleday, Atheneum, Scribner, Houghton Mifflin and Random House -- and has written and illustrated six books for children. She has been listed in Who's Who of American Art and Contemporary Authors.
Ms. Brown has studied at Manhattan's High School of Music and Art, Parsons The New School for Design and The Cooper Union. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from New York University.
She works in pen and ink, charcoal, crayon, watercolor and oil. She also enjoys reading nineteenth-century fiction and poetry.
